Abbiamo in programma una tavola rotonda seguita da una discussione sulla visibilità e la promozione delle nostre creazioni audio. Come possiamo rendere il nostro lavoro tangibile e accessibile a un pubblico più ampio? Come possiamo mettere in luce ciò che la creazione audio ha da offrire in Svizzera? Abbiamo bisogno di una piattaforma nazionale per il nostro lavoro? Come possiamo agire al di là dei confini linguistici?

Sabato mattina avremo tempo per una vivace discussione in occasione della prima Swiss Audio Unconference.
Che cos'è un'unconference? È un format aperto che vive delle idee e dei contributi delle persone che vi partecipano. Inizialmente, raccogliamo temi e idee per tavole rotonde, input e mini-workshop, per poi mettere insieme il nostro programma sul posto. Tutte le idee per le sessioni sono benvenute: discutere di questioni scottanti, scambiare conoscenze tecniche, ascoltare insieme estratti grezzi, presentare concetti e fornire feedback... Non esitate a portare le vostre proposte di sessione!

SONOHR FESTIVAL: Between Me and You. On the attitude of the audio documentary maker - Live Audio-Essay
by Katharina Smets, Music: Inne Eysermans , Voices: Katharina Smets, John Biewen, Jonathan Goldstein, Kaitlin Prest, Rikke Houd, Barbara Wazgird, Jerome Lemenu., Illustration: Randall Casaer.
What is real listening and what might be its consequences? In her live audio-essay, Katharina Smets illustrates her journey from an autobiographical narrator to an invisible director and back again. She is looking for an open and transformative dialogue between the ‘I’ of the maker and the ‘You’ of the interviewee, between the final work and the listener. She shifts from a focus on the ‚I‘ to an openness towards the ‚You‘, while experimenting with different approaches. She shares the realities of her intimate life, but realises that perhaps more imagery can bring her closer to the truth. She learns that journalism is not the same as feigned objectivity, that ethical journalism can save us from an egocentric focus on ourselves.
The performance is based on Katharina’s PhD research on the attitude of the audio documentary maker.
Artist Katharina Smets uses documentary material for live performances as for radio productions and works as an independent creator in Belgium, the Netherlands, US and UK. She teaches audio storytelling at the Royal Conservatoire in Antwerp and PhD in the arts on the attitude of the audio documentary maker (UAntwerpen and Royal Conservatoire, ARIA). She is a sought-after consultant in audio storytelling for podcasts, audio guides and theatre.
Inne Eysermans has produced sound and music for film, theater, radio/podcast, and installations. She is focusing on composition in sound and music, experimental approaches to text and storytelling, the practice of listening and ecoacoustics.

09.00: Is Voice Over Over? Producing Multilingual Audio
Talk in EN and FR with Marie Guérin and Lory Martinez, moderation: Isabelle Cornaz
In our multilingual society in a multilingual country, we face the problem that our content is often only understandable to a small audience. Audio pieces that work in different languages would be an absolutely Swiss thing, but little exists in the field. How do we change that? How do we adapt content for different audiences, playing with emotions and musicality? How do we create multi- lingual pieces that build bridges between the languages in such a way that listeners continue to listen even if they don’t understand everything? Can audio documentaries be a way to preserve minority languages?
Lory Martinez is a journalist and podcast producer from Queens, NYC, with Colombian roots, who moved to Paris. She is the founder of Studio Ochenta, a multilingual podcast studio.
Marie Guérin is a sound artist from France (Brittany), working for radio and on stage. She manipulates sound recordings and radio archives. Her work interrogates field immersion and sound heritage.

Masterclass in EN by Wild Museum with John Coburn and Tim Shaw
In this masterclass John Coburn and Tim Shaw present Wild Radio, a practice which encourages communities to consider familiar places (their homes, streets, cities, villages and woodlands) afresh and is using the richness of radio to bring disparate communities of people together.
John Coburn is the founder of Wild Museum, a collaboration of artists, researchers & educators based in the North East of England.
Tim Shaw is an artist working with sound, light and communication media. Tim is the co-curator of the Walking Festival of Sound.

Masterclass in EN with Mark Vernon
In his presentation Mark Vernon explores the world of audio archaeology, magnetic memory, lost voices and found sounds through the lens of his practice as a sound artist.
Mark Vernon is a Glasgow based artist. A keen advocate of radio as an art form, he co-runs and curates Glasgow’s art radio station, Radiophrenia. His solo music projects have been published through different labels.
